Photography series, 2014
A scientific lab is a peculiar place, furnished with special strengths and powers. Mundane work performed by people inside the laboratory has an aura of magic. Discoveries crafted in the lab expand and modify our understanding of the world, ourselves, and the surrounding environment. The strength of science, as noted by philosopher Bruno Latour, is not based on the individual genius of the scientist, but on the way that the laboratory functions, allowing multiple errors to be made and corrected, and theories to be advanced and proven, or rejected.
