Stadiums can be perceived as the representation of the Society of the Spectacle as described by philosopher Guy Debord in 1967. Nowadays, some stadiums, no longer fulfilling their entertainment role, become wild and overgrown, gaining a new, non-obvious function that can only partially serve people. This happened with the Skra Stadium in Warsaw and the Szyc’s Stadium in Poznań, as well as many others, whose maintenance turned out to be troublesome or unprofitable.
Since squatting is the action of occupying an abandoned area without lawful permission, this term can be also used for the colonization of plants on abandoned stadiums and other urban wastelands. This installation showing the international squatters' symbol was created thanks to seeds and fruits of Elderberry, Goosefoots, Solanum, Mullein, Evening primrose, Datura, Wild Carrot, Wild Rose, Swallowwort, Guelder-rose, Clover, Thistle, Sorrel, Grasswort, Goldenrod, Mugwort, Lysimachia, Spindle tree, Maple, Yarrow, Dandelion, Colza, Tansy, Knotweed, Lime, Amaranthus, Hawk, Garlic, Plantain, Nettle, Hops, St. John's Wort, Viper's Common, Hypericum and Blueweed. After the exhibition closed the seeds were dispersed around the gallery.
